Make a Mug workshop
Learn to make your own ceramic mug! In this 1.5 hour class I will provide you with all materials and instructions to create a one of a kind ceramic mug.
Please note this is in person in Ballard area of Seattle, WA and exact address will be sent after signing up for the class since it’s my home studio :)
We will use various handbuilding techniques like slab building, slip and scoring to make the mug and then use various surface decorating techniques and tools to add texture and design to our mug.
Students will be provided with all materials needed and get to chose from one of 4 fall colored glazes for their mug.
Students will be contacted once their item is ready to be picked up, about 4 weeks after the class.
Class Includes:
a beverage of choice
Choice of speckled or white stoneware clay
various textured rolling pins
Use of all tools needed during class : canvas, sponge, needle tool, exacto knife, ruler, metal rib tool, clay slip, paint brush
firing service of 1 piece
20% off any retail items purchased day of class!
*if time allows, you may use your scraps to make an additional piece at the rate of $10/piece
*Please note that this class is non refundable but you may email me to reschedule into a different class up to a week prior!
Due to the nature of this craft, imperfections may occur and not all pieces will survive multiple firings in the kiln. This is all part of the beauty of learning a new craft!
